Join the Student Loan Resistance of America in the fight against the corrupt American banking system, which through greed and desperation (due to the collapsing economy to which the banking system is the primary contributor) is destroying the fundamental institutions of American society via its unregulated, predatory (speculation-driven) lending techniques which are leading the average taxpayer deeper into poverty and debt.
The U.S. national debt is currently (December 1st, 2010) at ~13.8 trillion (http://www.usdebtclock.org/) and increasing at a rate of ~$4.13 billion per day (http://www.brillig.com/debt_clock/). With a population of ~309,578,225 this means that every American man, woman and child (working or unemployed) currently owes ~$44,563.33. Excluding the unemployed, every working taxpayer currently owes ~$125,004.00. These debt amounts are of course independent of normal cost of basic living expenses (ex. housing, transportation, medical, etc.).
The banking system's response to this crisis is to keep the illusion alive that the economy is recovering. The main way they are able to do this is by continuing to print paper currency, a lack of transparency, and media manipulation - as the banking system (a.k.a. "Wall Street) now has significant control over both Washington and the mainstream media. Unfortunately the unjustified printing of "phantom money" merely hides the problem in the immediate sense and forestalls the inevitable collapse as the national economy sinks deeper and deeper into insolvency and resulting depression. It also devalues the currency (ex. U.S. dollar) which exacerbates this situation.
The Student Loan Resistance of America exists with the intention of educating the public on the nature of this crisis in addition to building a collective following of defaulted student loan holders in order to initiate a collective political movement against the lending/banking industry in order to release the victims of these corrupt banking practices and save former students from the tragedy of student loan bondage.
